How to set up and use a Mobile Lockdown in the PDK Access App

The PDK Access App allows users to trigger Rules and associated Events from their mobile device, without presenting a physical credential at a reader. This includes placing Devices on the system in a Lockdown state. 

The article below explains how to configure the Device, Access and Event Rules for Mobile Lockdown.

NOTE: The PDK Access App with Mobile Credentials is required to trigger this Lockdown; this function cannot be triggered in the States page

Hardware Setup

No wiring or additional hardware is required.

Software Setup

Please be aware that this will result in an additional Billable Device.

Adding a Device

• Add a new Premium IO Device to the Cloud Node system 
• Assign it to a Port number higher than those on the controller (for example, Port 2 on a Cloud Node or Red 1).
• Name the Device (e.g., Mobile Lockdown or Panic Button)
• Select the preferred public-facing Icon 

Group Configuration

Create or select a Group or User that will have access to the Mobile Lockdown function. Three different rules will need to be created and associated with this Group.

• Access Rule - Create a 24/7 Access Rule to the Lockdown Device 
• Event Rule - Lockdown On Rule 
  • Trigger: When Allowed 
  • Action: Lockdown On
  • Source Device: Lockdown Device 
  • Target Device: All Devices that will be part of the Lockdown, including the Lockdown Device 
  • Schedule: Always 
• Event Rule - Lockdown Off Rule 
  • Trigger: When Denied (Explicit)
  • Action: Lockdown Off
  • Source Device: Lockdown Device 
  • Target Device: All Devices included in the Lockdown On Rule 
  • Schedule: Always

Activating the Mobile Lockdown

Once the Device and Rules are configured, the Lockdown Device will appear in the PDK Access App.

• To activate Lockdown: Tap the Lockdown Device in the app. All devices included in the Lockdown will enter a Do Not Disturb state, denying all access.
• To deactivate Lockdown: Tap the Lockdown Device again. The system will clear the Lockdown, and regular Access Rules will resume.
