In some installations, it may be required to restrict access to a door from both sides.
For this configuration, two reader devices must be added to the Customer Account. As Wiegand and OSDP readers and wiring are different, information regarding each :
- Wiegand Readers: Each reader must be configured on a different port on the Controller
- Red/OSDP Readers: Each reader can be wired to a different port or the same port through Multidrop wiring.
Once the readers have been connected to the controller, the readers must be configured as 'Primary' and 'Additional'.
- A 'Primary' reader is the reader directly connected to the port for the door/device.
- An 'Additional' reader is linked to a 'Primary' reader and will follow the same access rules and schedule as the Primary reader, acting as an extension of the Primary reader.
For information about adding 'Primary' and 'Additional' Readers, reference the article about Configuration -Devices.
Once the Primary and Secondary readers have been added to the system, you will need to add a group or individual access rule for the Primary door.
