Device Types
The different Device Types available in ProdataKey allow a Dealer Partner to configure the function of Devices attached to the Controller. Each Device Type is used for different functions in the ProdataKey Cloud Node system and may have reduced functions compared to other Device Types. The different Device Types will be explained below
Door or Gate
Primary Reader - A Primary Reader is the Reader that controls the lock hardware or controlled device on the same Controller port as the Reader. System Event rules can be configured for a Primary Reader using the A and B inputs. The device will also be displayed in and controllable from the States display.
Additional Reader - An Additional Reader is a Reader linked to a Primary Reader through programming so that the Additional Reader functions as an extension of the Primary Reader. An Additional Reader will use the same access rules and restrictions as the Primary Door, such as with an in-and-out configuration where there are readers on both sides of a door. As such, Additional Readers do not need additional Access rules.
Please be aware that due to the functionality of Additional Readers, the following functions are unavailable on the Additional Reader Device: Inputs A and B, States page visibility and control, and direct control of the relay only available in the Device window in Configuration.
When using Additional Readers, it is possible to associate more than one Additional Reader with a single Primary Reader. For information Using 'Multi-Drop' with OSDP Readers
IO Devices
Generic IO - A Generic IO Device is a device that does not need active (Reader, App, or States page) control of for example a piezo alarm. The Generic IO Device is associated with the AB inputs and Relay components of its assigned port and is not visible in states or the ProdataKey app.
Premium IO - Premium IO Devices are devices that are not related to a door or gate or elevator and that you still want to directly activate or deactivate. An example of a Premium IO Device is a burglar alarm. The Premium IO has access to all of its associated port components (Reader input, AB inputs, Relay) and is also able to be manipulated from states and the ProdataKey app.
Elevator
Primary Reader - The primary reader is the main reader for an elevator. It is associated with the reader component of its port only and is also able to be manipulated from states and the ProdataKey app.
Additional Reader - The Additional Reader device type is used when associating multiple readers with a single elevator. For more information regarding this, please refer to the Additional Reader section for Doors above.
Floor Relay - This specifies that the relay Device will provide a connection for the control of elevator floor control buttons. It is recommended to connect each floor control button intended for the Cloud Node system to control to a single relay on a Controller. This will allow the floor control button(s) to independently control the floor control buttons, with access rules for multiple Floor Relays created through Elevator rules in the Cloud Node system. A Floor Relay device has access to any inputs (A and/or B) present, Relay functions for the associated port, and is also able to be manipulated from the States window and the ProdataKey app.
