Event Rules allow an Action to be processed when a Person performs a specified action on the Cloud Node system.
To create an Event Rule, select + Add Rules in the Access Rules section of the drawer. This can be done for a Person or a Group.
Select Event. By default, the Access tab will be selected.
Name - Enter a unique, descriptive name for the Event rule.
Trigger - Select the Trigger field to select the Event result that will cause the rule to be processed.
Action - Select the Action field to select what will occur when the rule is processed.
An Event rule requires both a Trigger and an Action for the rule to be processed. For more information regarding the different Triggers and Actions, please refer here.
Source Device - Select Edit Devices to open the drawer where you can select the Device where the selected Trigger event will occur. After selecting the chosen Device, select Save.
Target Devices - The Target Devices option is displayed for all Actions except for Send Email or Push Notification. Select Edit Devices to open the drawer where you can select the Device where the configured Action event will occur. After selecting the chosen Device, select Save.
- Same as Source Devices - When the Target Device is the same as the Source Device, select this option by selecting the checkbox.
Schedule - Select this dropdown to choose the Schedule Type: Always, Recurring, or Single Date.
Below is an explanation of each Schedule type and how to configure it
Always - The rule will always be processed.
Recurring - The rule will be processed only during the selected time frame each week.
Days - Select the days of the week the rule will be processed. By default, Monday-Friday are selected.
Begin - Select the specified time (in 24H format) when the Access Rule will begin.
End - Select the specified time (in 24H format) when the Access Rule will end.
Single Date - The rule will only be processed for the specified timeframe on a Single Day.
Date - Select the date when the rule will be processed.
Begin - Select the specified time (in 24H format) when the Access Rule will begin.
End - Select the specified time (in 24H format) when the Access Rule will end.
After configuring the Event rule, select Submit to save the rule.
