To create an Access Rule, select + Add Rules in the Access Rules section of the drawer. This can be done for a Person or a Group.
By default, the Access tab will be selected.
Select the Schedule field and choose the appropriate option (Always, Recurring, Single Date). Each Schedule option will be outlined separately below.
After configuring the Access Rule as detailed below, select Submit in the lower right corner of the drawer to save the new Access Rule.
Creating an Always (24-hour) Access Rule
Schedule - The rule will always be processed.
Devices - Select the Devices to include in the Access Rule by selecting Edit Devices.
Action - The Action option specifies whether the Access Rule allows or denies access to the Doors/Devices it contains.
Allow - Will Allow access to the specified Door/Devices for the Person or members of the Group that the rule is present in. This is the default state for this option.
Deny - Will Deny access to the specified Door/Devices for the Person or members of the Group that the rule is present in.
Authentication Policy - The Authentication Policy determines which Credential types are required to gain access.
Primary Authentication Options:
You must select at least one Primary Authentication Policy:
- Card or Bluetooth: Requires a physical card or a Bluetooth credential via the PDK Access App.
- PIN: Requires entering a PIN on a reader keypad.
- Mobile Button: Requires tapping the Door name in the PDK Access App.
Secondary Authentication Policy (Optional):
The Secondary Authentication Policy adds an extra layer of security.
- PIN: If the Primary Authentication Policy is set to Card or Bluetooth, you can require a PIN as a second step. The user must scan their credential and then enter their PIN.
Important Note: If an Authentication Policy is set for the Device in Configuration, it may conflict with the selected Authentication Policy, causing Credentials to function improperly. It is recommended to set this during Access Rule creation.
Adding a Recurring Access Rule
Schedule - The rule will be processed only during the selected time frame each week.
Days - Select the days of the week the rule will be processed. By default, Monday-Friday are selected.
Begin - Select the specified time (in 24H format) when the Access Rule will begin.
End - Select the specified time (in 24H format) when the Access Rule will end.
Devices - Select the Devices to include in the Access Rule by selecting Edit Devices.
Action - The Action option specifies whether the Access Rule allows or denies access to the Doors/Devices it contains.
Allow - Will Allow access to the specified Door/Devices for the Person or members of the Group that the rule is present in. This is the default state for this option.

Deleting an Access Rule
To delete an existing Access Rule, in the Access Rule drawer for an existing Access Rule, select Delete Rule in the lower left corner.
