The Connections Tab of the Configuration Page allows an Integrator-Partner to view, add, edit, and remove Connections to Controllers for the Cloud Node.
For information regarding how to add each Connection type, tap or click on the relevant Connection type below.
Coordinator | Ethernet | Gateway | Onboard | Aperio |
Edit a Connection
Tapping or clicking on a previously added Connection name displays the Connection details.
Note: Connection information for a device varies depending on the connection type.
The following Connection Types will show the same dialogue pop-up when editing as was shown when adding the Connection.
- Coordinator
- Gateway
- USB
- Ethernet (Lantronix)
- Aperio.
Ethernet (PDK) Modules:
After adding a Red High-Security Ethernet connection through the Discovery tab, the displayed options when editing the Connection differ from what is shown on Discovery. It is recommended to use the default IPv6 option, as this reduces the chances of an IP conflict occurring.
Controller Ethernet: This allows you to make changes to the settings for the Ethernet Module on the Red High-Security device.
Address Mode: This allows the Red High-Security device to use IPv6 or IPv4. Please note that IPv6 cannot be used if the Cloud Node and Red High-Security devices are on different subnets/networks.
Auto - This will show the current IPv6 and IPv4 addresses.
IPv4 Static - This allows you to configure the IPv4 address as a static IP.
Connection Locking - This feature allows a user to 'lock' the Connection for the selected Red series Controller. This will remove the ability to physically change the hardware for the current connection or Cloud Node installed system and use it elsewhere without the Controller being 'unlocked' first. This will also keep a different Cloud Node on the same network from discovering and adding the Red Controller to the other system.
Tapping or clicking on the button shown above will display the pop-up shown in the image below and the Connection can be 'Locked'.
If the Connection for a Controller has been 'locked' to the Cloud Node, the button below will be shown instead.
Tapping or clicking on this button will display the pop-up shown in the image below and you can 'Unlock' the Connection to the Controller.
Delete Connections
An existing Connection can be deleted if the Connection does not have any Devices assigned to it. By long-pressing or hovering the mouse cursor over the Connection to be deleted, a trash can icon will be displayed, which if tapped or clicked will delete the Connection.
