Configuration - Discovery

The Discovery Tab of the Configuration Page allows an Integrator-Partner to discover Controllers, Hubs, Wireless Locks, and add Devices to a Cloud Node.

Red-series Controllers using Wireless (WiMac) or Ethernet communications, Red Hubs, Red Wireless Locks, and Legacy PDK Controllers using Wireless communication use the Discovery process to add any associated Devices to that Cloud Node. 

When going to the Discovery Tab, the Cloud Node will automatically begin detecting Red-series Controllers, Red Hubs, Red Wireless Locks, and Legacy wireless Controllers. Both newly detected Controllers and Controllers with previously configured Devices will be displayed, with the names of the configured Devices listed below their MAC addresses/IP addresses. Red Wireless Locks and Hub will not be discoverable once they have been added to the system. 

NOTE: Red Hub must be added before a Wireless Lock can be Discovered.

After discovering the available Controllers or Wireless Locks, tap/click on the Controller or Wireless Lock, then tap/click Add Port or Add Device, and follow the steps detailed in the article about adding Devices.

Important Note: The contents of the Discovery tab will refresh to a blank state each time the Discovery tab is clicked.
