Groups are used to provide multiple people with shared Access rules, simplifying management of the access control system by removing the need to create and manage Access rules for each Person. Adding, changing, and removing access rights is required only once for an entire group of people rather than making individual changes for each person, one at a time, making this process much faster and easier.
To begin using a Group, tap/click the + icon in the bottom right corner of the Group window. This will open a dialogue box, allowing the name of the new Group to be entered.
Once the new Group has been created, the following options are available. When using the ProdataKey app to Manage the Cloud Node system, some of these options are accessible by tapping the three verticle dots (Kabob menu) in the upper right corner of the window.
Name - The current name of the Group is shown. Tapping/clicking on this option allows the Name to be changed.
Recent Audit Logs - This allows you to view the ten (10) most recent events and changes for the current Group. For more information regarding this, please refer to our article about Recent Audit Logs.
Delete - Tapping/clicking this option will delete the selected Group and will remove the rules present. No changes to the People assigned to the group will not occur, beyond the removal of their association with the Group.
Partition - This allows the Group to be added to a specific Partition, allowing the Group to be managed by certain Managers. This option will only be available if additional Partitions beyond the Default have been created.
Rules - Tapping/clicking the + next to Rules allows for Rules (Access, Event, Anti-Passback, and Elevator if configured) to be added to the Group. For more information regarding Rules, please refer to our article regarding 'Rules Overview'.
Members - Tapping/clicking the + icon next to Members allows one or more Person(s) to be added to the Group. Place a checkmark next to the People on the Cloud Node system that will be added to the Group and tap/click Select. A Person can be a member of multiple Groups on a Cloud Node system.
