PoE++ Module - RMPOE
To convert the Ethernet controller to Power Over Ethernet capability, plug the PoE module into the Red 1/Red 2/Red 4 board as shown in the image.
PoE | PoE+ | PoE++ | |
Red 1 | 11w/0.8a | 24w/1.7a | 27w/2a |
Red 2 | 11w/0.8a | 24w/1.7a | 27w/2a |
Red 4 | 11w/0.8a | 24w/1.7a | 49w/3.5a |
Aux 8 | 11w/0.8a | 24w/1.7a | 49w/3.5a |
Important Notes! Ensure that the PoE module's pins align with the corresponding holes on the Red 1/Red 2/Red 4 board. Gently, and carefully, press the module onto the board and ensure that it is seated completely and all pins are making good contact with their respective holes. The images below show the orientation of the module for the Red 1/Red 2/Red 4 boards.
PDK recommends that Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is disabled on any Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) used to power PDK products over POE, POE+, or POE++. The PDK POE module does not support the LLDP protocol, and enabling this protocol may cause the POE connection to work improperly or not function at all.
