An Aperio door lock functions and is "discovered" in the same way as any other wireless door device.
Click the Configuration icon in the Cloud Node Appliances home screen to view existing devices as well as to add new devices. A list of attached devices, if any, is seen in the Configuration screen.
NOTE: Integrator is the only Permission role able to access the Configuration features.
Click the DISCOVERY tab. It is used to discover and list the wireless devices that are attached to the Cloud Node. Wireless devices, including Aperio locks, need to be discovered, using the Wireless Discover tool before they are listed and can function as part of the access control system.
Click the Wireless Discover button in the lower right to reveal and display any wireless controllers or connections attached to the Cloud Node. Aperio devices associated with all connected hubs that have been configured into the system are discovered and listed alongside and in exactly the same manner as a wireless door controller.
To add a new device configuration for the Aperio device, hover over an item in the list and click the Add Port button.
Provide a meaningful name, enter 1 for the port number, and click ADD to complete the addition.
NOTE: Since Aperio devices are restricted to controlling a single door, they should only ever have a device configured for Port 1.
Once added, the device configuration for Port 1 will show on the device in the discovery list.
This process should be repeated for each Aperio device in use with the system.
Aperio Hub Installation
An Aperio AH40 IP Hub is required and a necessary part of setting up an Aperio door lock.
Aperio AH40 IP Hubs and the Aperio enabled devices associated with those hubs should be installed and configured according to the Aperio documentation.
EAC IP Address
When specifying the Electronic Access Control system (EAC) IP address in the hub configuration, the address of the site's ProdataKey Cloud Node should be used. This address can be found by consulting the site's DHCP server leases. The DHCP client name will be the same as the Cloud Node's serial number which can be found on the sticker inside its door.
This address can also be found by pinging the Cloud Node from a computer that is connected to the same network.
NOTE: If or when you set a static IP on a Cloud Node and the Cloud Node does not come back online immediately, give it a few minutes. If it still does not come online then power cycle the Cloud Node for approximately 10 seconds; the Cloud Node should come back online.
Windows
On a Windows computer, open Command Prompt and enter the following:
ping -4 <CNSerial>.local
<CNSerial> should be replaced with the Cloud Node serial number.
Apple
This can be done similarly from a macOS computer by opening the Terminal application and enter:
ping <CNSerial>.local
It is highly recommended that a reservation is created in the network's DHCP server so that the Cloud Node's address does not change in the future, which would require reconfiguring the Aperio hubs. If a DHCP server is not available or access to it is limited, please contact ProdataKey support to have a static IP address configured on the Cloud Node.
Hub Connections
A connection for each Aperio hub in the system must be created in the PDK Cloud Node configuration.
Log into pdk io and navigate to the Cloud Node for the system, and select Configuration and then select the Connections tab.
Select Aperio in the Add Connection screen.
Assign a name for the hub and enter the hub's MAC address. (The MAC address can be found on the back of the hub or in its packaging.)
Click ADD.
For multiple hubs, repeat this process to connect to this Cloud Node.
Until a connection to the hub is successful, the status indicator next to the listed Aperio connection shows red. Once the hub is successfully connected, the status shows green. Each discovered device displays its MAC address and any existing device configurations associated with the device.
Each device configuration will now be listed when navigating to the DEVICES tab of the Configuration module.
From this point, the system configuration and management are device agnostic and Aperio devices will be available alongside PDK devices for selection in the door list throughout the system to configure access rules, system events, auto opens, and other system features that relate to doors.
NOTE: If the hub has not connected after two to three minutes, troubleshooting steps should be taken to diagnose network connectivity between the hub and the Cloud Node. Ensure that the hub has the proper IP address, and double-check the MAC address.
If you encounter any issues or have any questions, reach out to the Support team to assist with the connection and installation process.
