The Zapier integration enables seamless automation between your PDK System and thousands of third-party applications without requiring custom code.

Configuration

Requirements

The Zapier integration is only available for PDK.io 2.0 Customer Accounts.
A Partner with Integrator permission is required for the initial setup of the Zapier integration. For more information, refer to the article on Integrations.
The integration works with any Zapier plan.

Setup

To connect your PDK system to Zapier, you will need to authenticate using a unique system token.

1. Navigate to the Zapier Integration page, and copy your unique Token.
Note: This token does not expire. Keep it secure, as it grants access to your system.

2. Log in to your Zapier account, then click + Create to build a new Zap (you can build it manually or use Zapier's AI Copilot).

3. When selecting an app, search for ProdataKey (do not search for "PDK").

4. When prompted to connect a new account, paste the Token you copied from PDK. This makes your PDK system available as an option for all future Zaps.

Triggers and Actions

In Zapier, PDK can be configured as either a Trigger or an Action.

PDK Trigger: Something happens in PDK → Zapier tells another app to do something.
PDK Action: Something happens in another app → Zapier tells PDK to do something.

PDK Trigger Events:

Access Allowed: Triggers when a person presents a credential at a door or gate and is allowed access.
Access Denied: Triggers when a person presents a credential at a door or gate and is denied access.
Device Closed: Triggers when a door position sensor (DPS) indicates that a door or gate has been closed.
Device Locked: Triggers when a relay indicates that a door or gate has been locked.
Device Opened: Triggers when a door position sensor (DPS) indicates that a door or gate has been opened.
Device Unlocked: Triggers when a relay indicates that a door or gate has been unlocked.
Forced Alarm Activated: Triggers when a door position sensor (DPS) indicates that a door or gate has been opened without a valid credential scan.
Forced Alarm Deactivated: Triggers when an administrator clears the forced alarm.
Propped Alarm Activated: Triggers when a door position sensor (DPS) indicates that a door or gate has remained open beyond the allowed prop delay time.
Propped Alarm Deactivated: Triggers when a door position sensor (DPS) indicates that a door or gate has been closed after a propped alarm was activated.
REX Activated: Triggers when a request to exit (REX) is activated.

PDK Action Events:

Add Holder to Group: Adds a person to a group. If the person is already a member of the group, the step concludes successfully.
Close Device: Locks a door or gate.
Create Digital Credential: Creates a digital credential with Bluetooth or Mobile Button capabilities (or both).
Create Group: Creates a new group.
Create Group Rules: Creates all group rules necessary to allow access to the specified devices between two points in time.
Create Holder: Creates a new person.
Create Physical Credential: Creates a physical credential representing a prox card, key fob, sticker, wristband, or QR code.
Delete Credential: Deletes an existing physical or digital credential.
Delete Group: Delete an existing group.
Delete Holder: Deletes an existing person.
Deleted Unused Groups: Deletes all groups with no members or with expired rules across all time zones.
Generate Random PIN: Generates a random PIN that is not currently in use.
Open and Close Device: Unlocks a door or gate and automatically relocks it after the configured dwell time.
Open and Close Device as Holder: Emulates a person's credential scan at a door or gate.
Open Device: Unlocks a door or gate.
Remove Holder From Group: Removes a person from a group. If the person is not a member of the group, the step concludes successfully.
Update Group: Updates an existing group.
Update Holder: Updates an existing person.
Find Credential: Finds a credential by person, type, or credential number (with optional facility code).
Find Device: Find a device by name.
Find Group: Finds a group by name.
Find Holder: Finds a person by ID or email.

FAQs

Q: Why can't I find "PDK" when searching for the app in Zapier?

A: Inside the Zapier platform, our integration is listed under ProdataKey. Searching for "PDK" will not return any results

Q: Will my PDK token ever expire or change?

A: No, the integration token does not expire.

Q: Can I connect multiple apps to a single PDK event?

A: Yes, depending on your Zapier account tier, you can create multi-step Zaps.
