Auto Open is where rules are created to set a door/device to ‘Open’ (unlocked) or ‘Closed’ (locked) for a specified time frame. Click on an existing Auto Open setting to view / modify the settings, or a new Auto Open rule can be created.
PDK io Auto Open Rules Overview
Permission roles of Integrator and Admin have access to the Auto Open features.
NOTE: Auto Open is a good way of managing holiday schedules. Specific times, days of the week, and days of the year can be designated to automatically lock and unlock doors to allow or deny access to a location.
Click the Auto Open icon in the Cloud Node home screen to open the Auto Open screen. Any previously created Auto Open settings are listed.
Click the + icon in the lower right to create a new Auto Open setting.
Name
Assign a unique descriptive name for the Auto Open rule.
Partition
If partitions have been created, the Partition field is shown. Click inside the Partition field or on the down arrow to select a partition from the drop-down menu. A Default partition exists but the Partition field does not appear until after an additional partition is created.
See Partitions for additional information.
Action
Allow
Indicates if the rule is to allow access to the specified device(s). Select Allow to grant access to the rule during the time frame specified. Click to toggle between Allow (green dot) and Deny (red dot).
Deny
Indicates if the rule is to deny access to the specified device(s). Select Deny to revoke access to the rule during the time frame specified. Click to toggle between Allow (green dot) and Deny (red dot).
NOTE: A Deny rule always overrides an Allow rule.
Schedule
Specify a Start Time and Stop Time in 24-hour format for the rule to be active. Click the down arrow in these fields and use the up and down arrows to set hours and minutes. Click SAVE.
NOTE: The door/relay with a rule applied to it opens at the Start Time of the rule and closes at the Stop Time. Auto Open schedules can be applied to a relay on the system controlling doors, elevators, or other devices.
Always
The Devices listed in the Auto-Open allow rule will remain in the Auto-Open state unless closed via an Auto-Open deny rule or certain overriding actions.
Recurring (default)
Select the day(s) of the week for a recurring event.
Single Date
If selected, a rule can be defined for a specific date, such as a holiday closure. Use the Date menu to select the month and day. Click inside the Date field to enter a date using the MM/DD/YYYY format (Month, Day, Year) or click on the down arrow to use a calendar.
Use the < and > to change to a previous or future month.
Click on the month to select a month's name from the drop-down list.
Click on the year to change the year.
NOTE: Single dates are useful for temporary access, holidays, etc. Once the date and time have passed, the rule will be inactive. These rules can be used again by simply changing the date.
Devices - Auto Open
Click the + icon next to Devices to assign device(s) for the rule.
Any previously added doors/devices appear in the list in alpha order. Check the desired door name(s), or for a long list of doors, search for the door name in the Filter field. Click SELECT.
Click SAVE.
NOTE: As is the case with most of these screens in this application, the SAVE button does not appear unless and until additions/changes have been made to the information on that screen.
Delete Auto Open Rules
In the Auto Open main screen, hover the cursor over the rule to be deleted and click the trash icon.
