Rugged Reader Installation Manual

Important Note: When installing these readers on a metal building or metal pole, it is recommended to install the reader with a rubber insulator/gasket and electrical tape the shield-drain or remove any exposed portions of the shield-drain wiring.

When mounting the Reader to a metal building or pole, avoid allowing the frame of the reader or the shield-drain on the wiring harness to touch the metal building or pole. This can cause a potentially damaging (to the reader or controller) electrical discharge or ground feedback-induced issues.
