ProdataKey App

The ProdataKey app is the centerpiece of ProdataKey's mobile-first approach to access control. The app functions not only as a Bluetooth and Mobile credential carrier, the app also allows dealers, system administrators, or system managers, to manage all aspects of the system.

Favorites

The Favorites tab allows easy access for you to be able to open doors of your choice that you have access to through the ProdataKey app. Initially, this tab will be empty and the Locations tab will be shown when opening the app.

After tapping the star icon next to a door/device in the Locations tab to add the door/device as a Favorite, that door/device will be shown in the Favorites tab. After setting a Favorite, when opening the ProdataKey app the Favorites tab will be opened.

Locations

The Locations tab shows any locations (systems) where you have been granted either Bluetooth or Mobile App credentials. The left image above shows a user with access to two different locations.

If you have been granted only 'Bluetooth' credentials, tapping a location in the list will display a message stating you have Bluetooth access and informing you that to view and control doors/devices, you will need to contact whoever issued your Bluetooth credential to issue Mobile App credentials. This is shown in the middle image above.

If you have been granted only 'Mobile App' credentials, tapping the location in the list will display a list of the doors/devices below a message stating you do not have Bluetooth access, to contact whoever issued your Mobile App credential if you require Bluetooth access and a Bluetooth symbol with a line through it next to it.

If you have been granted both 'Bluetooth' and 'Mobile App', tapping a location in the list will display a message stating you have Bluetooth access and a list of the doors/devices you have access to.

If you have been granted 'Mobile App' credentials on a system, you can long-press the name of a door/device to unlock or activate it.

Manage

The Manage tab is only present when you enable it from the Account tab. This will allow you to log into PDK.io and use it as your Permissions allow. System management in the ProdataKey app functions the same as the PDK.io website.

Account

The Account tab allows you to control and view various settings and options in the ProdataKey App. 

Credentials: Tapping the Credentials option will open a list of any Locations and Credentials you have been granted. You can also tap the plus icon in the upper right corner to open a new dialogue where you can request replacement credentials or manually enter the activation code if the link in the email doesn't work. For more information regarding requesting replacement credentials or manually entering a code, please refer to our Credential Options article.

Tapping the garbage can icon next to a credential will prompt you if you want to delete that credential.

The different types of  Credentials available are:

• Mobile App: This credential type allows you to activate doors from inside the ProdataKey app.
• Touch Bluetooth: This credential type allows Bluetooth access to the PDK TouchIO readers.
• Red Bluetooth: This credential type allows Bluetooth access to the PDK Red readers with Bluetooth.

Manage: When you first tap to open the Account option, the Manage option will be disabled. Enabling this option activates the Manage tab.

History: Tapping the History option will show any activity (credential activity, access allowed) that has occurred.

Contact Us: Tapping the Contact Us option allows you to send feedback, bug reports, or requested troubleshooting information, including the current state of the installed app, to the ProdataKey Support team.

About: Tapping the About option will display the current app version, link to the Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions documents.
