The ProWireless Kit and associated ProWireless Config utility allow an Installation Partner to configure a SiteID (WiMAC mesh network identifier) and Passphrase (WiMAC connection password) to a WiMac module. Using this kit allows WiMac modules to be programmed to only connect to a specific Cloud Node system, allowing multiple Cloud Node systems with WiMac to function properly in close proximity.
The ProWireless Config utility requires a specific version of 'Java for Windows' (version 8.0.1810.13) to be installed on the computer before the ProWireless Config software will work properly. For details on this version of Java and a download link for this version of Java, please contact the ProdataKey Support team.

Once the Prowireless Config software and the specific version of Java have been installed, insert the wireless module into the Comm Base (the Programming Kit board). Before attempting to program a SiteID and PassPhrase onto a WiMAC module, please refer to the following recommendations:
- Ensure that the wireless module is correctly orientated so that the module matches the markings on the Comm Base before connecting the Comm Base to the computer with the USB cable.
- Do not insert or remove the wireless module from the Comm Base while the Comm Base is connected to the computer via the USB cable.
Failure to follow the above recommendations can cause damage to the wireless module, Comm Base, or both items.
Once the module is connected properly, plug the Comm base into an available USB port. Once the Comm base is plugged in, go into 'Device Manager' on the computer, expand the 'Ports (COM & LPT)' section and take note of the Comm Port assigned to the Comm base, listed as a 'USB Serial Port'.
In the ProWireless Config software, click in the dropdown box and select the Comm Port.
- If the Comm Port is not listed, close the Prowireless Config software and reopen it.
Once the Comm Port is selected, enter the 'Site Name' and 'Passphrase' you wish to use.
- Important: The 'Site Name' and 'Passphrase' are case-sensitive and must be identical on all WiMac devices meant to connect to the same WiMac network.
Once the Comm Port, Site Name, and Passphrase are set properly, click the 'Program' button. This will write the 'Site Name' and 'Passphrase' to the WiMac module.
- Important: If the ProWireless Config software closes without an error message being shown, this means an incorrect Java version is installed. Please contact our Support team to get the correct version of Java.
Once the WiMac module is programmed, unplug the Comm base from the USB cable and remove the module. If you have additional WiMac modules to program, insert the module into the Comm base, connect the Comm base to the USB cable, and repeat the steps above.
Once all the WiMac modules for the network have been programmed, contact our Support team to set the 'Site Name' and 'Passphrase' on the Cloud Node itself. Once the 'Site Name' and 'Passphrase' have been set on the Cloud Node, you can use the Discovery tab under Config to add the WiMac controllers to the Cloud Node system.
